Communication
The third grade team recognizes the importance of parental involvement and is committed to maintaining open communication between home and school. We firmly believe children receive the best education possible when parents and teachers work together as a team. To help maintain communication between home and school, each student will have an agenda and red folder. Students will be responsible for using the agenda to record daily assignments, important reminders, and to monitor behavior. It is an expectation that students show their agenda to a parent EVERY night and that parents sign the agenda daily, indicating that they have read and seen information in the agenda. Your child will be held accountable for making sure that their agenda is signed daily and may receive consequences if it is continuously unsigned.
Students will also receive a red folder and a classroom newsletter every Wednesday. Please look for this folder, review the graded papers with your child, and sign and return the folder the next day. This folder is a great communication for viewing your child’s progress on daily or weekly assignments. The graded papers should be returned in the folder for us to keep a working file of your student through report card time. The red folder may also be sent home at other times with important information.
